Humboldt, Iowa (June 1, 2019) –  Iowa harness racing started the season on Saturday, June 1st. After being rained out at What Cheer May 27th, a full card of 13 races was held at Humboldt, Iowa.

Five races of two year olds took the track, freshmen pacers and trotters racing for fans
and most for their very first start behind the gate. In Iowa, two year olds will only start
five across the gate until June 15th, to help these young horses gain experience.
With three divisions of two year old trotters and two divisions of two year old pacers, all
raced well for their first start. It looks to be an exciting summer, watching these young
horses develop.

Three year old horses returned to Iowa racing with Loussolataire continuing her winning
ways, taking Race 6 in 2:04 flat, for owner, trainer, driver Steven Renard. Max Trax Go
N Spi also got a first lifetime win with Jim Reese in the sulky.

The feature races of the card were the Free For All Pace and Trot. Race 11 belonged to
Pretty Boy Swag, taking the win in 2:00.1. Ima Juggernaut returned, as undefeated
champ from 2018, with a win in Race 12, trotting home in 2:01.4.

The next race date is scheduled for June 8th, Taylor County Fairgrounds in Bedford,
Iowa.
