IaHHA will be hosting a fund raiser
We are deeply saddened by today’s (November 9, 2023) tragic event at Tioga Downs.
During the annual banquet on November 18th, IaHHA will be hosting a fund raiser for the horsemen affected by the fire at Tioga. All proceeds from the stallion auction and individual donations collected will go directly to Tioga’s horsemen.

A fire that caused the death of two dozen racehorses at Tioga Downs Casino complex early Thursday was the result of arson.
Boyd H. Fenton, 32, of Athens, Pa., has been charged with third-degree arson, third-degree burglary, second-degree criminal mischief and second-degree assault, all felonies, according to the New York State Bureau of Criminal Investigation.
Tioga County Dispatch Center received a report of a fire at the Nichols complex at 6:34 a.m. Nichols Fire Department crews detected heavy fire in one of the horse barns and were assisted in knocking it down by nearby fire departments at the scene, including Waverly-Barton and Tioga Center.
