On Tuesday (2/6) at Dover Downs, Chicken N Dice (Corey Callahan) drew the seven-hole in race fourteen, W/OF2-W for $15000.  Charging the gate, Chicken N Dice fought for the lead, parked out first at the quarter.  Gaining the top, Chicken N Dice led the field to the top of the stretch.  Unable to hold off challengers from the back, Chicken N Dice captured a third place finish, his mile in 1:53.4.

 

Marced Mercedes (Kyle Dibenedetto) had the four-hole in the fourth race at Monticello Raceway, NW300PSL5, $3200.  Outpacing the inside, Marced Mercedes dropped to the rail to capture the pocket trip behind the leader.  Sitting second around the track, Marced Mercedes hit the board for place, pacing in 2:00.1.

 

On Wednesday (2/7), Sheeznotkidncowboy (Kyle Dibenedetto) competed in race two at Monticello Raceway, NW2PMLTCD, $4100.  Leaving from the five-hole, Sheeznotkidncowboy wasn’t kidding around as she looked to take the lead at the quarter.  Parking Prairie Special (Bruck Aldrich Jr) to the three-quarter-pole, Sheeznotkidncowboy was still on top as they turned for home.  As horses fanned across the lane, Sheeznotkidncowboy surrendered her lead, holding on for third place, her mile in 2:01.1.

 

In race six, the Open Trot $6500, Cyclone Maximus (Gregory Merton) had the rail.  Getting away third, Cyclone Maximus sat on the rail, waiting until the stretch.  Gaining ground on the leader, Cyclone Maximus captured second place, trotting in 1:59.3.

 

Ricky B Sharp (Michael Baumeister) had the three-hole at Batavia Downs race eight, Open Trot I, $15000 on Thursday (2/8).  Fourth at the quarter, Ricky B Sharp moved his way up to second at the half.  Pulling to the outside, Ricky B Sharp took the lead as they race passed the three-quarter-pole.  As they raced for the finish line, Ricky B Sharp battled City Of Hope down the lane.  Beaten by a length, Ricky B Sharp finished second, trotting his mile in 1:57.3.

 

Over at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows, Airman’s Jackpot (Tyler Stillings) had the six-hole in race four, CDCLMNW4, $7300.  As the gate folded, Airman’s Jackpot pushed the gate out of the way, trotting up for the lead.  Relinquishing the lead, Airman’s Jackpot settled in on the rail.  With the perfect trip, Airman’s Jackpot was looking for the pot of gold as they hit the stretch.  Trotting her last quarter in 29.2, Airman’s Jackpot flew across the wire as winner, mile in 1:57.1.

 

Cashncam (Jim Taggart Jr) drew the rail in the opener at Monticello, NW150PSL5, $2500.  Impeded at the start, Cashncam got back on gait and was fourth at the quarter-pole.  With a move to the outside, Cashncam gained ground, parked third at the three-quarters.  Finding racing room, Cashncam paced up for second, his mile in 1:59 flat.

 

In race two, Knox The Fox (Gregory Merton) also drew the rail, NW200PSL5, $3000.  Cutting the mile in 28.4, 59.1 and 1:28.3, Knox The Fox held a two length lead as they raced the last turn.  Increasing his lead by another length, Knox The Fox cruised in for the win, pacing in 1:57.3.

 

Friday (2/9) at Cal Expo, Brett Erickson and Frewil Dakota Sven had the five-hole in the opener, TMR<72, $4000.  Drifting off the gate in fifth, Frewil Dakota Sven sat in the back as they raced to the half.  Pulling to the outside, Frewil Dakota Sven was parked sixth as they passed the three-quarters.  Looking for racing room, Frewil Dakota Sven found another gear, passing horses as he looked for the wire.  With a last quarter in 28.3, Frewil Dakota Sven captured the win by over a length, pacing in 1:56.4.

 

In race four, NW3ExtPM, $4800, Tss Hot House (Luke Plano) had the two-hole.  Sitting third until the lane, Tss Hot House made up ground, hitting the board for place, trotting in 2:01.4.

 

Check Marc (Nick Roland) and Cal’s Hope (Lemoyne Svendsen) competed against each other in race ten, TMR<67, $3500.  Check Marc got away fifth from the four-hole, with Cal’s Hope dropping into sixth from the six-hole.  Tracking the field, Check Marc waited until past the half to move to the outside, with Cal’s Hope picking up his cover.  Sitting fourth and fifth as they raced the last turn, the Iowa duo made great strides, trying to catch the leader.  Finishing on the board, Check Marc grabbed a second place check for owner, Roger Roland, while Cal’s Hope got show money, both horses pacing in 1:58.2.

 

At Freehold, Mnemonic (Vincent Ginsburg) had the six-hole in race ten, TMR72.50, $4200.  Fouth at the quarter, Mnemonic sat fourth as they raced the half-mile track.  When she hit the top of the stretch, Mnemonic poured on the trot, finishing second in 2:01.1.

 

The opener on Saturday (2/10) at Cal Expo should have been titled Iowa Filly/Mare preferred, with Hunky Dory (Luke Plano), Omadome (Jacob Cutting) and Brooklyn Wind Up (Nick Roland) all drawing in together.  As the gate folded, Brooklyn Wind Up found herself parked second at the quarter from the five-hole, while Hunky Dory followed in third and Omadome sat fifth.  Gaining the rail, Brooklyn Wind Up was hoping to get the pocket trip.  As they raced towards the three-quarter-pole, Hunky Dory pulled to the outside, sitting second beside Brooklyn Wind Up, with Omadome sitting in fourth beind her.  As Hunky Dory took over the lead, they all were looking for the wire.  In a head to head battle down the stretch, Hunky Dory was declared victor in the photo, pacing in 1:57.2 with Omadome second by a head for owner Wilda McDanel.  Christopher Manatt and Jennifer Heller celebrated Brooklyn Wind Up’s effort with a third place finish.

 

Wilda McDanel owned Anitas Red Rebel (Justin Van Otterloo) had the five-hole in race six, NW1/FM2, $4000.  With a brush to the front, Anitas Red Rebel took the lead and didn’t look back.  Cutting the mile in 30.3, 1:01.3 and 1:30.2, Anitas Red Rebel still looked strong as they turned for home.  Last quarter in 28.4, Anitas Red Rebel held off all challengers for the win, pacing in 1:59.1.

In race nine, Trump Train (Jacob Cutting) looked to make harness racing great again in race nine, TMR<67, $3500.  Leaving from the two-hole, Trump Train quickly took command and pacing first at the quarter.  Setting the pace in 29.3, 59.3 and 1:28.3, Trump Train raced in complete control as they turned for home.  Crossing the wire in 1:56.3, it was all Trump Train for the victory.

 

Dance Traveler (Lemoyne Svendsen) drew the five-hole in race ten, NW1402-5, $4500.  Getting away sixth at the quarter, Dance Traveler made a move to the outside, looking to gain ground.  Parked fourth at the three-quarters, Dance Traveler was still gaining as they paced the last turn.  With his last quarter in 28.2, Dance Traveler had a tough trip, but placed second in 1:58 flat.

 

Brooklyn Moonshine (Luke Plano) had the two-hole in race twelve, FMtmr<67, $3500.  Sitting second until the lane, Brooklyn Moonshine was unable to fight off challengers from way back.  Pacing her mile in 2:00.1, Brooklyn Moonshine took home a third place check.
