Batten First (Ross Wolfenden) had the two-hole at Dover Downs on Monday in race two, the NW1 Trot, going for $7000 on Monday (11/27).  Fighting for the lead, Batten First found himself first up, parked third to the quarter.  Taking control, Batten First led the field around the last turn.  With a last quarter of 30.2, Batten First was first place as he crossed the line, trotting in 2:00.1.

 

At Hawthorne Racecourse, Bama Lou (Todd Warren) had post-position four in the fifth race, NW2/3PM, $6700.  Drifting off the gate, Bama Lou raced fifth until they hit the half.  Pulling to the outside, Bama Lou was first up third at the three-quarters.  Holding position as they raced to the wire, Bama Lous picked up a third place check for owner, Gary Liles, trotting in 2:00.3.

 

On Tuesday (11/28) Major’s Song (Hunter Myers) competed from the three-hole in race thirteen at Northfield Park, the final of The Election Night Series Horses & Geldings for for $25000.  With a brush to the front, Major’s Song grabbed the lead.  Cutting a furious mile in 28.2, 57.4 and 1:28.1, Major’s song was up by a nose as he battled the challengers at the three-quarter-pole.  Unable to hold the lead, Major’s song hit the board for show, trotting his mile in 1:59.1.

 

Over to Rosecroft Raceway, Billy Eyelash (Hugh O’Neil) had the grey saddle pad with post-position eight in race four, MPNW1PM, $5500.  Charging the gate, Billy Eyelash raced to the rail second, getting the pocket trip behind the leader.  Sitting patient until the stretch, Billy Eyelash found room and raced for the wire.  With a 30.1 finish, Billy Eyelash captured the win, pacing in 1:57.4.

 

Wednesday (11/29) at Hollywood Casino At The Meadows, Prima Bella (Ronnie Wrenn Jr) had the five-hole in race five, FMNW1EXTPM, $9000.  Trotting away second to the quarter, Prima Bella sat second to the half.  Pulling to take the lead, Prima Bella was on top as they reached the stretch.  With an effort in 1:59.2, Prima Bella trotted to hit the board for third, finishing behind by only a length.

 

Jimmy Freight (Jonathan Roberts) hits the Graduate Report again.  Racing on Thursday (11/30) at Rosecroft Raceway in race eleven, the Maryland Preferred Open 1, going for $12000, Jimmy Freight had the far outside with the eight-hole draw.  Leaving the gate with a mission, Jimmy Freight charged towards the front, double parked in third, as they passed the quarter-pole.  Gaining the front, Jimmy Freight was all business as he led the field around the track.  Up by two lengths turning for home, it was all Jimmy Freight as he crossed the finish line victorious, pacing in 1:52.3.

 

Friday (12/1) Omaha Storm Chaser (Luke Plano), Tss Hot House (Brett Erickson) and Sparkplug Sparky (Lemoyne Svendsen) all competed in race four at Cal Expo for NW1EXTPM, $4400.  Sparkplug Sparky charged to the top from the three-hole, cutting the mile in 29.4, 1:00.4 and 1:31.3, with Tss Hot House sitting in the pocket and Omaha Storm Chaser chasing in third.  Reaching the top of the lane, Tss Hot House took control, but Omaha Storm Chaser was already on the move.  Nose to nose to the wire, it was Omaha Storm Chaser in the photo for the win, her mile in 2:01.3 for owner Wilda McDanel.  Brett Erickson’s Tss Hot House placed second and Wilda picked up another check for Sparkplug Sparky’s third place finish.

 

Marc Box Twenty (Nick Roland) had post-position eight in race five, NW1/FM2, $4000.  Not wasting any time, Marc Box Twenty sprinted for the lead, up by five lengths at the quarter.  Fractions in 28.3, 58.2 and 1:29.0, Marc Box Twenty rounded the last turn, looking for the wire.  Cruising home in 29.3, Marc Box Twenty had the race under wraps, winning in 1:58.3.

 

In race eight, FMNW1001-4, $3500, What Cheer had the two-hole with Nick Roland in the bike.  Getting away third, What Cheer sat on the rail until the half-way mark.  Pulling out to challenge, What Cheer was parked second as they passed the three-quarters.  Unable to make up ground, What Cheer picked up a nice second, pacing in 1:57.2 for Royal Roland and Roger Roland.

 

Over to Freehold Raceway, Sheeznotkidncowboy (Tyler Miller) had the six-hole in race two, FMNW2PM, $4800.  With a dash to the top, Sheeznotkidncowboy took the lead, parking challengers to the half.  Setting the pace in 29.2, 59.1 and 1:30.0, Sheeznotkidncowboy was determined not to let anyone go.  As she raced down the stretch, Sheeznotkidncowboy battled Chillax De Vie (Brett Beckwith) to the line.  Finishing in 2:00.2, Sheezenotkidncowboy roped in the win by a nose.

 

On Saturday (12/2) in the Open Trot I at Batavia Downs, Ricky B Sharp (Michael Baumeister) drew the two-hole, going for $15000.  Third at the quarter, Ricky B Sharp had to be on his toes, avoiding a break, which scattered the field.  Shuffled back to fifth at the half, Ricky B Sharp charged ahead, looking to make up ground.  Third at the top of the lane, Ricky B Sharp trotted hard to the line, picking up the win in 1:59.2 by a head.

 

Jumping Jillybean (Keith Kash Jr)  had the three-hole in the FMNW3500L4, $7200, at Northfield Park.  Fifth at the quarter, Jumping Jillybean pulled, looking for cover.  Parked fifth at the half, Jumping Jillybean made a bold move, double parked third at the three-quarters.  In full gear, Jumping Jillybean hit the board for place, pacing in 1:57.4.

 

At Cal Expo on Sunday (12/3), Give Me This Dance (Luke Plano) was looking to get the win in the Fillies & Mares Open, race three going for $7500.  Sent hard from the start, Give Me This Dance was parked first at the quarter.  Setting the fractions in 28.0, 57.2 and 1:26.4, Give Me This Dance looked strong as she turned for home.  With a last quarter in 28 flat, Give Me This Dance took the victory for owners Alan and Cheryl Sandbulte, pacing in 1:54.4.

 

With the three-hole in race two at Northfield Park, FMNW2PMCD, $8800, Beggintobefrisky (Billy Davis Jr) got away fifth at the quarter.  Finding cover on the outside, Beggintobefrisky was parked fifth and moving.  Parked fourth at the three-quarters, Beggintobefrisky was still fourth as they raced the last turn.  Breaking loose from the pack, Beggintobefrisky pace her last quarter in 30.2 to capture the win by a head in 1:58 flat.
