Batten First is on a roll at Dover Downs.  Drawing the five-hole in race two on Monday (12/4), NW2 $8000 with Ross Wolfenden in the bike, Batten First shot out of the gate to grab the pocket trip.  Head to helmet around the track, Batten First waited to make his move until they reached the top of the lane.  With a charge to the wire, Batten First came up with the win, trotting in 1:57 flat.

 

On Tuesday (12/5) at Dover Downs, Billy Eyelash (Corey Callahan) had the eight-hole in race three, NW2, $8500.  As the gate folded, Billy Eyelash sprinted out to sit third at the quarter-pole.  Maintaining position around the track, Billy Eyelash hit the board for show, pacing in 1:55.3.

 

Juneparker (Corey Callahan) had the two hole in race six, FMNW1, $7000.  Second at the quarter, Juneparker pulled to capture the lead as they reached the half-way point.  Still up at the three-quarters, Juneparker had to fight off Whassup Hanover (Eddie Dennis) as they raced for home.  Photoed out by a head, Juneparker placed second, pacing her mile in 1:57.3.

 

At Monticello Raceway, CR Dudley (Rick Harp) had post-position three in race three, NW750PSL5, $5900.  Getting away third and sitting third the entire mile, CR Dudley grabbed a third place check, pacing in 1:57.2.

 

At Batavia Downs on Wednesday (12/6), CR Blazin Beauty (John Cummings Jr) drew the rail in race six, NW2500L4, $7500.  On fire from the start, CR Blazin Beauty grabbed the front and didn’t look back.  Setting the fractions in 29.1, 59.2 and 1:28.4, CR Blazin Beauty held a one length lead on the field as they turned for home.  With a last quarter in 29.3, it was all CR Blazin Beauty trotting across the finish line for the win in 1:58.2.

 

Imoutthedoor (Anthony Morgan) had the three-hole at Dover Downs on Thursday (12/7) in race thirteen, WO10000L5, going for $17000.  Pacing strong out of the gate, Imoutthedoor looked to get the perfect trip, racing on the rail in second.  Still second as they hit the stretch, Imoutthedoor paced a wicked last quarter of 27.4 to finish second, his mile in 1:52.3.

 

At Hollywood Casino At The Meadows, Freeman Freddy (Brady Jenson) had the four-hole in race two, NW1EXTPM, $9000.  Sitting fourth until they reached the half, Freeman Freddy made a move and dropped into second behind the leader.  As they raced for the finish line, Freeman Freddy held off challengers to hit the board for place, trotting in 2:01.2.

 

Gumbolaya (Chris Lemons) had the five-hole in the next race, NW2EXTPM, $10900.  Drifting off the gate, Gumbolaya let the front runners battle for the lead.  Content to follow the pack, Gumbolaya waited until the stretch to make a move.  Looking for racing room, Gumbolaya charged down the lane, capturing second, pacing his mile in 1:55.4.

 

Hankscoltfortyfive (Brady Jenson) had post-position two in race nine, CDCLMW1NW3, $7000.  Fourth until the half, Hankscoltfortyfive pulled, finding cover to the three-quarters.  As horses fanned out in the stretch, Hankscoltfortyfive shot towards the wire, picking up second in 1:56 flat.

 

On Friday (12/8) at Cal Expo, TSS Hot House (Luke Plano), Omaha Storm Chaser (Nick Roland) and Hocho Al Trot (Brett Erickson) went head to head in race two, 2&3yo, $5500.  Omaha Storm Chaser chased the gate from the two-hole, taking the lead.  Cutting the mile in 30.4, 1:03.1 and 2:04.2, Omaha Storm Chaser was still on top, with TSS Hot House sitting on her back.  In a dash for the line, it was TSS Hot House in the photo, by a head, trotting in 2:04.2.  Omaha Storm Chaser captured second and Hocho Al Trot picked up a fourth place check.

 

Dance Traveler (James Kennedy) competed in race six, NW3001-5, $5400.  Getting away third from the rail, Dance Traveler pulled as they raced to the half, finding himself first up to the three-quarter pole.  Making headway, Dance Traveler gained ground on the leader, but was not able to hold off two hard charging horses, coming from the back.  With a mile in 1:56 flat, Dance Traveler held on for a third place finish.

 

At Freehold Raceway, Almost Karen (Eric Abbatiello) had the three-hole in race seven, FMNW2500L5, $5000.  There was no doubt about it as Almost Karen left in 29.4 to take the lead.  Reaching the half in 59.2, Almost Karen was still in control as they passed the three-quarters in 1:27.3.  With no competition from the field, Almost Karen was a certain winner, pacing in 1:56.2.

 

JB Velvet (Aaron Johnston) drew the rail in race ten at Hollywood Casino At The Meadows, FMNW3EXTPM, $11000.  Racing fourth until the three-quarters, JB Velvet found racing room and was second as they turned for home.  With a last quarter of 29.4, JB Velvet smoothly crossed the line as the winner, trotting in 1:55.1 for Aimes Racing.

 

On Sunday (12/10) at Cal Expo, Brooklyn Moonshine (Luke Plano) had the rail and Brooklyn Wind Up (Nick Roland) had the two-hole in race three, FM4-5000CL, $4000.  Brooklyn Moonshine sat third as they raced around the track, with Brooklyn Wind Up back in the field.  Both mares waited for the stretch, battling each other to the wire.  With a three-way photo finish, Brooklyn Wind Up wound up the winner for owners Christophen Manatt and Jennifer Heller, and Brooklyn Moonshine placed second, both finishing the mile in 1:58.2.

 

Check Marc (Nick Roland) had post-position seven in race five, NW1/FM2, $4000.  Not able to find the rail, Check Marc was parked out to the three-quarters, second by a head.  As they raced down the stretch, Check Marc put away the leader but was unable to hold off a charge from the field, finishing second in 2:03 flat for owner Roger Roland.
